CBC White Horse YK interview,   Cyclist defies the Dempster

Don Martel is cycling from Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk Highway to Point Pelee National Park. (Aprox. 7000 km) to raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer Society of Windsor & Essex County (ASWE)

On June 1, 2018, I will begin my 2.5-month quest across Canada. I will bike from the Arctic Circle to Canada’s most southern point, Point Pelee, to help spread awareness and raise money for this disease that affects over 564,000 Canadians.

My route will start at the Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk Highway. the “first all-weather road to Canada’s Arctic Coast”. It was officially opened in November 2017, and opens up Tuktoyaktuk to year-round vehicle traffic, and now, my bike! I will be documenting my travels on social media so stay tuned for more info.
